Review: I bought this The BUG DAB radio to replace my old Sony bedside clock radio. FM reception was getting so bad, that the station would change if I moved my arm. So it had to be a DAB, and it had to be a good clock alarm. The Bug met that with it's bright display. The sound is good but not tremendous, which met my expectations. The BOSE Wave Radio, which I am sure has super sound, but at 4 times the price still cannot compare until they load it with DAB Tuner (surely someone must have told them that!). My small gripe is with the design of the central rocker/push button. It just does not make the radio easy to turn off. There is a soft key on the radio head to turn the radio on and to snooze time, but you do need to push fairly precisely on that central button to turn it off. Slight movement either sends the volume up or down or it changes the channel. I haven't yet played with the key features of recording the radio (I did not buy an SD card). Maybe this is good for classical music or speech, but not for songs, where there would be far too much DJ overtalk. I have tried the live radio rewind, but I see it as a feature to toy with and not necessarily one that would have made me buy this radio. Other purchasers may look at it differently. In terms of value for money, given that it is a DAB, and does have all of these features, I think you cannot beat it for the price. If you want a new clock radio, you must give this very serious consideration. |
