Review: I received this Pure Evoke-1XT DAB radio for Christmas to replace the FM radio in my study which always had problems with reception. I must admit that a few of the stories of bad DAB reception almost put me off, but I'm glad they didn't. The reception signal never drops below 95% (the radio shows you the signal strength quality) There is a really good bass response from the radio which is amazing for the size of it. The blue display is very clear, and provides a lot of good information such as the programme, DJ, phone number for the station, what's coming up next etc. The radio is really easy to use as all the stations are shown by name rather than frequency. I know that RDS radios have offered this feature for a long time now, but they are not perfect. There are 6 preset buttons for you to store your favourite stations, I would have preferred a few more presets, but as it is so easy to tune the radio to another station it isn't really a problem. I have tried to think of any downsides to the radio, but I just can't think of any; it looks great, sounds wonderful and at the price a steal. If there was one small complaint it would be that the additional speaker is a little dear at £29.99 but it does keep the price of the radio down for those people that do not require stereo. |
