Review: The Sendo M550 is a small, simple, clean phone that does what phones are supposed to do - great calling and texting. I can see myself using this phone for well over a year or more. For this recovering 3 user the phone's no-nonsense but stylish approach is especially refreshing. It's very intuitive and you can start using this phone as soon as you take it out of the box - I haven't needed to look at the manual yet. Its sounds, lighting, and display options are easily customizable. When folded, the phone fits easily in your pocket. It's incredibly light too, but durable. An external display window shows you the time and date, new messages, and who's calling. Just open the phone to answer it. The buttons are easy to press and are not "sticky". Excellent battery and standby life. The only problem I found is that when I switched my SIM from my old phone to this mobile, some of the phone numbers in my address book (international numbers to be specific) did not transfer over. This may have been a fault with my old phone, though, and it will only take a minute or two to re-input the missing numbers. This phone is not customizable in terms of fascias, downloadable wallpapers, etc, but as a previous reviewer noted, this is not a "poser's phone" - this is a phone for grownups who need a phone they can count on during business hours. The phone comes with a few dozen ringtones and wallpapers pre-installed, and I'm happy with what's there. That said, Virgin offer a library's worth of polyphonic ringtones to download for this phone on their web site. Overall, a great choice. It's a phone and it works and it's a great value for the money. If you're tired of the recent trend of putting bells and whistles over reliability, value, and service, then this is the phone for you. |
