Review: Some Like It Hot is, perhaps, the greatest movie of all time, as reflected in countless polls, Some Like It Hot is a classic feel-good movie. The constant humour is a delightful mix of subtle comedy and bordering-on-farsical jokes, so there's something for everyone. Jack Lemmon has to be seen to be believed as he teams up with the great Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe to create an experience never to be forgotten. Be prepared for side-splitting humour as you witness Lemmon and Curtis join an all-female band - dressed as females - in a desperate bid to escape the mob after witnessing the infamous Valentine's Day Massacre. Monroe inevitably falls for Curtis, providing the required romance to complement the less serious moments. This film is a must-see for anyone, and the lack of colour will be forgotten after a few minutes. If you want to buy any video/DVD this year, this is a dead-cert winner. |
