Review: You mix 3 great leading characters, a side-splitting script and excellent direction and what do you have? Some Like it Hot of course! The story itself may seem a little odd at first, what with two out of work musicians fleeeing the mafia by buying wigs, shaving their legs and high-tailing it off to florida in a girl band, but once the comedy starts everytrhing falls into place. Top it off with some classic Marylin songs like "I wanna be loved by you" and the film becomes an unforgettable experience. and while the better known stars Marylin Monroe and Tony Curtis are perfectly cast, especially with Curtis donning a Cary Grant accent to woo the girl, it is undoubtedly Jack Lemmon who steals the show with hundreds of memorable comedy moments which I won't give away! Definately one for everyone. |
