Review Summary: A very good Camcorder
Overall Score: 4/5 Overall score - 4Overall score - 4
Review: This Sony DCR-HC19 is my second digital camcorder. The first was a Canon. The Sony HC19 is smaller than the canon has a better lens and generally it copes better indoors and in low light even without the special mode than the Canon did. I like the touch screen LCD but do worry about how long this will last. There are only 2 things that I do not 100% like. One is the power switch. This is fiddly to use compared with that on the Canon or indeed on the two 8mm camcorders I had before the Canon. I would have preferred a bigger switch that turns one way for record and the other for play. The second is that the eye piece angle does not adjust as it has done on all previous camcorders I have used. This probably would not bother most people as they will used the LCD screen, but I have always found it easier to use the eye piece on camcorders and the view finder on digital cameras rather than the screen. Less shake. Still considering the price these are minor issues. It is also a shame that the included software withthe Sony DCR-HC19 camcorder will only capture at VCD and not full DV quality.
