Review: With a baby on the way, but no experience of camcorders I was unsure which route to go with this purchase. I chose the Sony HC22E as it had excellent reviews, easy PC connectivity and is a brand I have found to be reliable in the past. The camera is fantastic, dinky little device that fits snugly in your hand and simple controls. With a typically male love of gadgets I was not suprised to be using the camera within a short time, but my wife was also able to pick up & use it with no problems. Results are great, but you will need the firewire connection for reliable high quality transfer to PC - the USB link is just not up to much. Supplied software is limited in use - basically it gets the info onto your PC and not a lot else, so I will be looking for some basic editing software to go with this. Apart from the software gripe I have no complaints - good build quality, easy to use & good results. Highly recommended. |
