Review: Sony KV-32FX66TNS 32 widescreen TV - Had great trouble deciding which widescreen TV to buy, even after reading all reviews in mags and online, but narrowed it down to Sony FX66 or Philips 9527. Both have excellent picture and Phillips may have bigger sound, but quality of Sony won through for me. Am well pleased with it.
The sound is Nicam with Dolby Virtual surround effect, not true cinema sound, but I was going to add separate sound system off DVD for films anyway so wasn't bothered. The onboard sound is very good although speech can be slightly drowned on the Dolby Virtual setting. Also, running DVD sound thru stereo gives boost to films which is more than enough in lounge 18x12ft.
The screen sizing works well with switching formats OK (friend with Panasonic has trouble with this).
3 scarts are essential for easy connect of video, DVD, and satellite. Leaving side connect for S-video to Playstation - great on big screen!
From a 25inch square to this is a bigger improvement than I thought possible.
