Review: Hi-MD is an incredible technology, Massive capacity, flexibal, durable and funtional. It does everything useful that an ipod does and much more than an iPod could never do. I carry my Sony MZ-NH600 Hi-MD Walkman everywhere (wallet in one pocket, MD player in the other) it is the perfect size, flash players are TOO small, I like to have a nice handfull.MD players are legendary for their solidity and low battery consumption and mine is living up to that after a month... I use Media player to put my cds on to my pc then transfer them using sonic stage (included and required). I find this gets round any copyright protection problems that Sony try and cause (I recommend you research this before buying). I also record live concerts and even albums with my friends on it via PA or mixing desk, this is where MD comes into its own and makes it the musicions choice of walkman. This bottom end model is fine for me but remember there is no MIC IN or LINE OUT. Just a LINE IN Digital(optical) and analogue (all in one nifty socket), USB and headphone socket. I think remotes are pointless and there isn't one included with this model but it does have the socket if you want to use one. You can also use it as a mini ext. hard drive. I have backed up all my coursework on it. As for capacity, the 45 CDs to a himd does not seem to be an exageration. Very Impressive, I recommend it. |
