Review: That's right. You do get to fight alongside Yoda in this Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith game on the Sony PlayStation 2. That's all the spilling I'm going to do, unlike the LOTR games, the exact plot is revealed, allowing the best use of cut scenes. The better news is that unlike LOTR, you do have a two player duel mode, not just co-op. It is a game in the mould of ROTK, lots of pressing the triangle, square and x buttons in various combinations - some of these can be a touch tricky, but thats the name of the game. The other marginally irritating thing is that some of the bosses require a certain amount of problem solving ability. And finally, given you fight Count Dooko et al, you can't help but wish there was a training option so you could actually learn how to do the best moves before having your butt handed to you for trying them in game. But yes, it is a touch short, with 16 or so single player missions, and another 5 co-op and bonus missions. The good news is that you can fight as Yoda in a bonus mission, and a whole host of other characters. Some of the finishing moves each character has are rather brutal too (i.e. was that your arm I just lopped off?) Shortness aside, if you liked LOTR, buy this game. |
