Review: The Sound Of Music is probably the most popular musical of all time. Since its initial release during the mid-1960s, the popularity of this film has never waned. Now, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, it is brought to the Home Cinema enthusiast. The DVD version is a must buy for a number of reasons. First, picture and sound are quite simply superb. Secondly, it has an intermission giving it a real "cinema" feel. And thirdly, it contains numerous extras not only about the making of.... but Salzburg itself where much of the location work was filmed, and to round it off, the true story of the Von Trapp family. Wonderfully entertaining, it cannot fail to enlighten any family's evening viewing. Go for it. |
