Review: This Canon IXUS 60 camera is excellent in design, construction and performance. It is elegant looking and largely of metal construction with a large high resolution LCD display which is visible even in sunlight. The Ixus 60 produces high quality images under most conditions; normal; low light and flash and it can also take the images in a variety of formats including 16:9 - ideal for playing back on a widescreen TV. I found it hard to relate the high quality and large size of pictures possible to the small physical size of the camera. It also has a degree of simplicity about the controls which quickly become intuitive to navigate. The battery life is also excellent, although, the battery is Canon specific which means you can't just drop in a new set of alkalines if it runs low.
If I had to "nit pick" the battery door seems slightly flimsy but that is only an impression. This camera also makes the point that it isn't just pixel count that matters - lens quality and image processing are important too. Overall, a near faultless package - I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this gem. |
