Review: I bought this Canon IXUS 800 IS camera as a present for my wife, who was using a Nikon Coolpix 3100.
What a contrast this camera is:
No shutter lag - compared to a week and a day on the Nikon Clear sharp images - compared to blurred High quality video with audio - compared to low quality and no sound Excellent battery life - compared to needing to replace batteries every time you turn the Nikon on Great looks and feel - compared to chunky plastic Huge hi-res screen (2.5") - compared to 1.5" and low res Good simple supplied software - compared to Nikonview rubbish
is (Image Stabiliser) works very well at reducing blurr, especially on indoor shots. 800 film speed rating helps even more. My wife is a bit of a techno-phobe but within a few hours of the camera arriving, she was snapping away, making use of the scene settings. A very intuitive camera, just the right size, and very well priced.
I am a Canon digital SLR owner, and would use this Canon IXUS 800 IS any day of the week. |
