Review: This Canon IXUS 850IS is my 4th camera purchase since Digital Camera's became the rage, the first two were Fuji Finepix camera's but for my third I opted for the Canon Ixus 700 which was a much better camera and has served every purpose I have need from it - until I dropped it onto some concrete and damaged the lense casing!
So for a replacement I decided to stick with the Canon Ixus range and after reading the reviews opated for the 850IS. its very similar to my old 700 in layout and design, the 2.5" screen is bright and clear and it really is easy to use and delivers brilliant shots every time.
My only gripe is that that there is no battery level indicator (my old 700 was the same so i always carried a spare battery just in case!) I also find it difficult to take night shots without the flash, they just come out very dark even in manual mode with the settings altered) whereas my old Fuji produced excellent night-time shots.
All in all this Canon IXUS 850IS is an excellent camera - highly recommended |
