Review: I bought this Canon Selphy CP-330 printer to go with my Ixus 500. Both are extraordinarily well engineered and screwed toegther. Minor works of art! The quality of print is truly outstanding. Clearly, the output will depend on the quality of the original image, but all things being equal, you'll be very pleased with the result. You can print on to labels, small 'contact' sheets and 6x4 postcards, which are already printed on the rear ready to pop in the post. The finish of the print is superb; the colours vibrant and deep, the gloss very glossy! Oh, and the prints come out of the machine dry, so there's no possibility of smudging. Because of the dye sublimation printing process, the device draws the paper back in to the machine for each colour pass, yellow, red, and blue. The paper, however is not cheap. It costs around £13 for a pack of 36 6x4 prints. The pack comes complete with paper and the cassette of colour tape (essentially, the ink reservoir). One pack of ink 'tape' will last for 36 prints. Still, it beats taking a flim to a chemist and waiting for the prints to come back. Oh, and I must add that the printer comes with it's own rechargeable battery, which makes the printer completely portable. It will print directly from any PICT compatible camera. If you buy one, you'll not be disappointed. |
