Review: I bought this Fuji FinePix F31fd as a first step into digital photography (I mainly use 35mm SLRs). The price is very good for what you get. The F31 is well built, battery life is excellent and it is a fast, responsive camera. I was drawn to this becuase of its reputation for high image quality (compared with other compact digitals). Image quality is good, and I find the high ISO speeds useable, although I think ISO 1600 and 3200 can only really be used in B&W. There are some failings with this camera however. No histogram view, so judging exposure can be tricky in high contrast siutations. I would also like manual focus and fully manual exposure setting (not just aperture priority which resests itself after one frame). However for the price you can't really complain too much.
Overall a good camera, and an excellent price. |
