Review: this JVC GR-D53EK MiniDV camcorder not only looks good and is fairly light, but its a pretty good all round performer as well. the screen is bright, and comes with a backlight facility, but is rarely required. all the function buttons fall neatly in place with your fingers which is a big bonus. there aren't a great deal of effects included with this JVC range, (other cameras have effects with which you can play arround with), but the 9 standard transition effects are easy to use and there are a number of filming effects as well, and although these are of good quality, are limited. in choosing a camcorder, i would recommend the gr-d53 over the cheaper gr-d23 model, simply because of the connectivity from camera to other devices (PC, video, tv etc). also, this cam is still priced around £400 in the shops, and so the £80 saving here can be used to buy a long-lasting battery (only JVC's cheapest battery is included) and a pack of tapes! |
