Review: The JVC GR-DVP7 Mini-DV camcorder was my first intro into digital video and I wanted a blend of specification giving small footprint ie very easy to fit in the pocket with good quality stills as well as video. I also wanted to edit with good results, hence dv in/out. The camara is certainly small and it needs practice to make sure that the buttons are pressed correctly. The touch sensitive menu controls are not good but adequate. The quality of the video and stills in good light are excellent but suffer in low light conditions. For autofocus you need good contrast for best results. Using the camcorder with Pinacle Studio 8 is a breeze and you can easily get very proffessionl results. The downsides of the camara are low light performance and distance shots with such a small lens are not brilliant. That having been said its a great little camcorder, fits in the pocket and worth the money. |
