Review: I have just taken delivery of this Mustek DV5000 digital camcorder and when I first saw it I thought it would be crap. Wrong. For under £80 it is absolutely fantastic for video recording. I use mine on medium quality and it is great. I took ten minutes of my dog on a walk with voice on and it was great and easy to hold and keep the subject matter in the screen area. It is also easy to use with a simple user friendly interface. It is packed with features which are very useful. It comes bundled with lots of Ulead software (No manuals unfortunately but I guess I can get them off the web somewhere if I really need them). The 32mb ram gives about 10 minutes of recording so I purchased 2 Viking SD cards of 1Gb for £80 from Ebuyer and each one will hold 5.75 hours of recording. I also purchased 4 2500mAh rechargeable batteries from Ebay for £9.50. For a first camcorder it is excellent and I would recommend this to anyone. It is light and easy to carry being only slightly larger than a fag packet. I have also made a mount for my car and can't wait to try it out. Stick it on your wish list. I use Win2000 Pro and it recognises the unit with no driver installation required connected via USB. Bad points: Small internal memory, no software manuals Good points: Cheap, easy to use, fun, minute and portable, value for money, features. |
