Review: The Navman F20 Europe is my first ever Sat Nav system bought a week before a trip to Italy, this little gizmo proved utterly invaluable. Having compared other products I was a bit sceptical that if Western European maps were already included in the price then something else would have to give. Well, you have to pay somewhat inflated prices for basic extras like a protective case and mains charger, plus it's not possible to download directions given by impressionists of celebrity voices (yeah, right...) but otherwise this little box will simply do the job and lead you to where you want to go and get you back on track if you stray - what else would you really want?! My only real gripe operationally is the time the Navman F20 can take to get a GPS fix after it hasn't been used for a while (can be as little as a few hours). I've found it's sometimes taken up to twenty minutes to figure out where it is, not great if you're in a hurry and happen to be need urgent directions (e.g. in my case to the local airport with a plane to catch!) Compared to other more expensive machines though, great value and thoroughly recommended. |
