Review: This Navman N20 UK car sat nav works straight out of the box ready to go. The only thing it doesn't come with is a standard mains charger so you must either charge in the car or via USB. In use the system is fairly straight forward and generally easy to use. The touchscreen works well and the dedicated buttons make the system easier to use when out and about as opposed to touchscreen only units, the buttons also have their own back light which is very handy.
Battery life is good, the voices fine (although there are only 2 UK voices to choose from). Some people complain the speaker isn't loud enough but I haven't had a problem so far. Most importantly it gets you where you want to go, which is the whole point after all. The Back-On-Track feature works perfectly which means if you know a better route just take it and the unit recalculates the route to match your location.
There are also good route planning options such as waypoints and avoid areas. There is even a detour function which is similar to the roadblock function on the TomTom units. I haven't really used other makes in anger but the Navman does all I want it to. There is also the option for real-time traffic via the optional T1 traffic module which could be very handy if you do a lot of miles.
Highly recommended. |
