Review: For a budget system I can highly recommend the Navman PIN570 sat nav system. I have owned this for 2yrs now and have upgraded the maps to include both European and American maps.
I have never had any problems getting a GPS signal in Europe within 5mins. It does however take a lot longer to get a fix in the US upto 20mins in Texas.
I would reccomend anyone that buys this to make sure they upgrade the SmartST software online though and to check for additional upgrades every month or so to keep it up to date.
On the rare occasion that it has locked up then I just soft reset it and that way I've never had to re enter any of my details or lost any contacts etc.
As for traffic updates to avoid jams and delays etc. It has no capabilities of rerouting to avoid these, but what do you expect for a budget system?
I usually take a random turning and travel for about 2-3miles away from the jam/delay and let the software reroute me on to the correct path. Pot luck I know but letting the software on the Navman PIN570 sat nav system take care of business is a lot easier than sorting through maps etc for an alternative route.
