Review: I'm really not sure why people rave about LCD TVs so much. When you see them in the shops the picture is muddy and frequently blurred. It was a pleasant surprise therefore to see this Philips 26PF5321 tv, which appeared clear, crisp and with none of the annoying movement blurs or blurs around the edges of say peoples faces. What a disappointment therefore to get it home and find that using freeview, the blurring is there (and my signal is very good). It turns out that the shop were running it off a HDMI enabled DVD player.... Having said that, its better than most other LCDs I've seen, but CRT TVs are far superior in picture quality. Maybe when high definition tv finally comes out, it'll be different, but for the moment, the only good thing about LCD tvs is that they are lighter! |
