Review: The 40" Sony Bravia KDL-40S2010U is a beautiful TV, with a brilliant, crisp image. The speaker system integrated into the TV is satisfactory, but if you are willing to shell out thi$ much for a TV, I would expect you should look for an additional sound system. This raises the overall cost of the package, but well worth having the strong bass of a subwoofer to compliment the great picture you have here. I've also looked at the "V" series from Sony, but can only see a VERY marginal improvement over this TV. When you compare the specs side by side, I don't know why you would want to spring for the more expensive "V". The remote works well too. However, I've noticed a strange clicking sound from the back of the unit when left turned off.....every 2 minutes or so. I researched the SONY website in detail and couldn't find any reference to the problem. The manual indicates that one should unplug the unit when not in use. I find this to be a highly unreasonable requirement on the consumer. Also note that the support from Sony's website is poor, and they don't even accept email queries for problems like my "clicking" noise. So yes, the Sony brand is top shelf, but if you do have a problem, be prepared to have little support or means of contacting Sony.... |
