Review: This Sony HDR-SR1 HD digital camcorder is excellent. It is very easy to use in every way with intuative controls. It is easy to download and the quality of resulting HD video footage is fantastic, even when converted to SD, the quality is still very good.
The viewfinder and LCD display is very clear and bright, the extra features work very well, the backlight compensator, lowlight feature (if you like green) and the facility to take still pictures while you video is surprisingly valuable.
I took my camera to Africa on Safari and it was bashed about a bit and exposed to sand and rain but with no problems, my main concern with an HDD. With the QM71D, battery life is not a problem.
This is a very good purchase.
