Review: Here are the problems I have encountered with the Tom Tom Go 710 sat nav: (To start on a positive I have given this device 1 star because the pouch it comes with might be useful for puting rasins and nuts in!)

1 - Home charger lead is very loose and you have to position it very carefully into the dock for it to charge and hold it in with a paper weight. If you bump the desk it is on or even while typing the lead disengages and power / charging ability is lost.

2 - Device "crashed" during normal use whilst loading a favourite address via the PC.

3 - Even after just over the recommended 2 hours of charging the device could not pick up any satellites indoors or outdoors on its own (cordless). I have left it outside and in my vehicle in a clear area for 2 and ¾ hours and nothing was picked up. My Garmin etrex (for hiking) has no problem picking up satellites in the same area. It only seems to pick up signal in my office while plugged into the mains charger (which I have a paper weight holding down the lead to get a connection!)

4 - The "battery status" icon in the satellite menu constantly pulsates with the green level constantly going up and down. Even after a couple of hours you never know whether the device is fully charged or not.

So far I am not impressed with the Tom Tom Go 710 Europe and I am very angry at paying nearly £300.00 for something that quite frankly is of no use to me.
