Review: To expand upon one of the other comments and praise the TV further: The power cannot be turned off at the TV because the power supply is an external brick adaptor. You must turn off power to this to stop the TV consuming power in standby. The software is, indeed, good. I was particularly impressed by the icon on the screen advising you of the signal strength of the channel to which you've just tuned, which can be very informing in areas of marginal signal coverage. It's the details that make this TV so good. I was very impressed with the sound from the set, which was not powerful and bassy, but clear and natural. It maintained the clarity over the full volume range without becoming harsh, which is enough to make it audible in large rooms, even from such a small set.
I don't know how Toshiba have managed to set such a reasonable price on this Toshiba WLT56B widescreen TV compared to the competition. If only all manufacturers were this enlightened. |
